Last night I watered the TV, which was really not a good idea as it went all funny and green. Contemplating a future without television (oh the horror!), I tried to remember what I did in the seven years I lived perfectly happily without the box, almost entirely of my own free will. This was before the internet was invented too(not true, but hey)! I guess I might have slept more, but I'm not sure that's technically possible. The radio was on more, but that doesn't mean I was actually listening to it. Oh! What I did was read! Books! And I think I even liked it. Just as I was beginning to almost believe the absence of television could be an opportunity and not a crisis, it came back to life. Just as well, I was beginning to re-live the collected works of Milan Kundera, which were no fun at all.
